This is an abridgment of a lecture given at a conference on the space-time problem in Garmisch Parten-kirchen. Participants at the conference included Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker, the Dalai Lama, Joseph Needham, and others; the conference was organized by Dianus Triakont Verlag. The English translation is by Michael H. Kohn (for Shambhala). Ironically, the original year of the conference is not readily available. (The German notes also list the publisher as "Dianus-Trikont Verlag", not "Triakont") I will make an inquiry... -- B.G.
